Perfect Pies in Minutes

The Vanilla Pie Breaking The Internet

This year whilst watching the Australian Open on the telly under the air conditioner I stumbled across the Kmart Pie Maker Recipes, Tips and Ideas Australia on Facebook. I know. I was multi-tasking and checking social media whilst keeping cool. Well.

Let’s just say it has changed my life (and the family’s).

I plan to do a series of blog posts for my Pie Making adventures but I thought I would start with a couple of easy ones first to get the juices flowing. Head to the “printable recipes” for your five page printout of EIGHT savoury pies and THREE sweet pies. I will add recipes to the blog once tried and tested!

Here is my first pie for you. May I present my Chicken and Bacon Parmigiana Pie….

Chicken and Bacon Parmigiana Pie

This literally took me 15 minutes to whip up for Mr. Farmers lunch the other day. I had some shredded chicken breast meat that I wanted to use up and some bacon too so it all worked out well! Again, please see the printable recipe page above for the ingredients and method.

I cooked up some chicken bites from the freezer, purchased from Woolworths ( you could also use nuggets) bacon, shredded chicken and mixed them together.

I then made up my own parmigiana sauce using tomato, barbecue and sriracha along with mixed herbs, pizza sauce and tomato paste.

Ingredients for Chicken and Bacon Parmi Pies

I mixed them all together and placed the mixture into the pie maker. I added some grated cheese and closed the lid for about 5 minutes. It all depends on your machine of course.

This yielded four pies (which Mr. Farmer ate) but of course you can change the mixture to make more and freeze.

Right! Now onto the Pie breaking the internet thanks to Dianne Edwards!

If you have a spare 10 minutes and need a quick dessert, this is the recipe for you.

Grab yourself a Cottees vanilla (or chocolate pudding mix), 300mls of cream and 150ml of milk. Whip it together using electric beaters, and add to puff pastry blind baked in the Pie Maker for two minutes.

Cook for roughly 4 to 5 mins and Bob is your Uncle. Job is done and you are ready to devour some tasty vanilla pies.

Oh So delicious Vanilla Pie

Do let them cool down though and then serve with sifted icing sugar and maybe some cream if you dare!

Naughty But Nice

So tell me! What sort of pies would you like to see me make and test for you? I am all up for some suggestions so send me an email at anna@thefarmerandthecook.com.au and I will endevour to give them a go. Alternatively check out my Insta page at thefarmer_and_thecook and send me a message or send a message via the Facebook page (you guessed it, thefarmerandthecook).

My name is Anna and I'm a Pie Makeaholic!
